MemberPress Corporate Account Transfer Tool

The client needed a way to transfer the "Corporate" (Admin/Billing owner) status from one user to an existing Sub-Account user. Creating a new account was not an option because course progress and user details had to remain intact. Standard settings offered no way to "swap" these roles without manually editing database records, which risked breaking the MemberPress subscription.

• Need to swap roles (Corp <-> Sub) without deleting users.
• Must preserve "User ID" to keep course history intact.
• Must reassign the subscription ownership to the new user.
• Critical requirement: Zero billing interruption during the swap.

We built a custom management tool to handle the transfer of billing authority within membership solutions. The solution treats the switch as a single protected step to ensure no data is lost and billing remains accurate.

We implemented a secure interface for site managers. When viewing a Sub-Account user, a new "Convert to Corp Account" action appears. The system identifies the current billing parent and presents a confirmation screen. Upon confirmation, the backend system executes the swap immediately: the Sub-Account becomes the new Billing Owner, and the previous Owner is moved to a Sub-Account, all within seconds.

The tool enables seamless administrative handovers for corporate clients. Sub-accounts promoted to Corporate status can immediately view billing details and manage other accounts, while the previous owner keeps their personal progress as a regular member.
